Chappel is not too concerned with the form of Irfan Pathan, he thinks that “strike bowler and shock batsman” is just exhausted and needs some rest. “I'm not overly concerned, to be honest. Being a young man he's striving to improve himself all the time. I would say at times he has worked too hard. We've tried to hold back the reins and get him to understand that rest days are as important to his development as a cricketer as training days,” Chappell told 'Cricinfo'. One of the major problems is that the expectations people have when they see Irfan Pathan playing, they expect him to take a wicket everytime he comes on to the field. Greg said that the quick bowler was an integral part of the squad and would do really well in the worldcup in 2007. He also added that being a pace bowler is not an easy task and is definitely the toughest in the game. |
