Irfan Pathan has been rested for the first test match versus the West Indies. He is not the only one to be out of the test, Harbhajan singh has also been rested says the Team Manager - Ravi Sawant.
He claims this has been done due to the upcoming fixtures as the team has a busy schedule ahead with the Champions trophy and other tours.
The resting of Pathan seems reasonable, but i just can't understand why Harbhajan is out. |

Greg Chappel has come out and spoken about Irfan Pathan and his sudden loss of confidence. "He is low on confidence, and trying a bit too hard to bowl well" said the Indian coach. Chappel thinks Irfan is trying to bowl too quickly and erring in his line and lenght as a result. Lets just hope that Irfan gets to his best and starts bowling like he did in his previous matches. His record is one to be proud of at the moment, picking up wickets at a extremely good average of around 24. |

The LG ICC Cricket rankings which were out on 29th April had two of India's young guns high up in the order. Mahendra Singh Dhoni stays at number 2 in the batsmen list with Gilchrist edging over Dhoni and his captain due to his performances in the 3match series against Bangladesh. Irfan Pathan climbed up to number 2 just behind Shaun Pollock. He is at 765 points 3 more than Shane Bond, though Pollock still clear with a massive total of 858 points. |
